Now released. Once again a name to follow with consistent high scores across the board from the major critics (94-96 NM, 95-97 AG, 97-98 James Suckling.com, 94-96 WA). Carmes Haut Brion is unique in its profile and winemaking style, standing out on the Left Bank with its distinctive blend featuring 50% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot, the 2024 is a wine of fantastic perfume, energy and excellent balance. Fantastic quality, and one of the best wine of the vintage. A tiny production for the Left Bank (the estate owns just 7.6 hectares of vines), Carmes' distinctive identity, consistency, track record and limited production (down 50% in 2024) makes this is a buy for us at at £354 per 6 IB.
