Chateau Montrose
Now released at £507 per 6 IB, Montrose 2024 comes with a 30% price drop and stands out as one of the smartest buys of the campaign so far. This is a release that ticks all the right boxes for us: critical praise, First Growth-level quality, and notable value both vs. past vintages and within the current En Primeur landscape. Production of 2024 Montrose was just one third of the crop, now that 2024 is made exclusively from Terrace 4 – the historic heart of the estate in front of the Chateau - recognised as ne of the Medoc’s greatest terroirs, rivalling the First Growths. With the highest proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon ever used, the wine is “tightly wound,” and “impresses with its energy and focus.” At £85 a bottle IB, this is top-class Bordeaux without the First Growth price tag.
