Chx Beychevelle, Beaumont & Domaine de Chevalier Released

Chateau Beychevelle is released at £359 per 6 IB, down 11% on 2022.  This is the cheapest vintage of Beychevelle available on the market.  Beychevelle has developed into a powerful brand finding wide appeal (including throughout Asia for its dragon boat label which is associated with good fortune).  This is high quality, sophisticated, mineral and distinctive Saint Julien, at a reasonable price. Always worth buying en primeur.

Domaine de Chevalier Rouge – £275 per 6 IB.  17% down on the release price of 2022. "Always one of the benchmark wines of a vintage” (JA), consistently top-flight quality with perfumed, smoky, complex Graves character.  Reliably one of the best quality price ratios in Bordeaux.
 
Domaine de Chevalier Blanc - £455 per 6 IB.  The release price is down 4.5% on 2022.    Consistently one of the finest white Bordeaux with good ageing potential, Chevalier’s white wine is a limited production, just 10% of the estate, around 1000 cases. “The 2023 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc is one of the best dry whites of the year.”
 
Chateau Beaumont –  £51 per 6 IB / £102 per 12 IB.  Reliable claret in an easygoing, relatively early drinking style. 

Also released:

Chateau Durfort Vivens - £293 per 6 IB.  A pioneering Margaux Classed Growth, the first to be fully organic & biodynamic, with the focus on translating the terroir into the glass. "A resounding success", in a pure, lively and layered style. Ageing in 70% new oak and 30% amphorae. 

Chateau Haut Bages Liberal - £153 per 6 IB.  "Classically styled... a wine for Pauillac purists and those seeking wines with less sulfites." 92-94 Neal Martin

Chateau Ferriere - £162 per 6 IB.
