Bordeaux 2022 - 7 June
Saint Emilion's Chateau Trotte Vieille is released. From the owners of Batailley, their pricing strategy is always reasonable. Pure, focused and with impeccable tannins and texture, this must be the finest Trotte Vieille tasted en primeur, a fact noted by more than one commentator. The new winery is helping to provide even more precision to the blend.
Armailhac is now available. Clerc Milon has already been released so now "just" Mouton Rothschild to come from this side of the Rothschild family.
From Pessac-Leognan we now have Malartic Lagraviere - vibrant and polished, a very classy. Also Les Carmes Haut Brion, a gorgeously beautiful wine. Sadly volumes released are down 30% and we are over-subscribed on this wine. Carmes Haut Brion is one of the heroes of Bordeaux under the inspiration of winemaker Guillaume Pouthier, and for Carmes lovers and those keen to discover more, we also highly recommend the second wine, C des Carmes.
