Talbot

More news from Saint Julien with Chateau Talbot following the release of Branaire Ducru yesterday.  Talbot has always been popular worldwide but under Jean-Michel Laporte (formerly of La Conseillante) quality has stepped up.  2022 is a very good Talbot that remains "utterly classic" in its expression.  "The 2022 Talbot is especially impresssive, and if it fulfills all its promise, it is likely to emerge as this large Saint Julien property's most exciting wine since the 1980s."

Haut Batailley - This Pauillac has been more powerful in style and structure since it was bought by the Cazes family of Lynch Bages..

Also the first release from the Mouton Rothschild stable with Clerc Milon. First Growth winemaking for a fraction of the price.

Made by the talented team at Leoville Lascases, Chateau Nenin has also flourished in '22.  Plummy silky and sophisticated, 22 stands out from other vintages here and is their best yet.  From vines located near Trotanoy and Le Pin.

From Saint Emilion, Canon La Gaffeliere and La Mondotte are now out.  Gorgeous complex Saint Emilions with plenty of fragrance and the elegance that comes from cool limestone, great terroir and a precise approach from winemaker Ludovic von Neipperg, now back at the family estates after a stint at Harlan in Napa.
