Bordeaux 2019: The Best Value of the Vintage

Siran Chateau.jpg

We've picked out 7 of the best from Bordeaux 2019 that will not break the bank. All coming in less that £25 per bottle under bond there is some ridiculous value here to be had for the quality on the offer. These are wines to stock the cellar with that will give you years of drinking pleasure!

---

Beaumont at £100 per 12 IB works out at just over £8 per bottle IB. Neal Martin scores it 91-93 points and calls it "a bloody great Beaumont." We couldn't agree more having tasted this a couple of weeks ago and everybody in the office immediately ordered some.

---

Poujeaux at £105 per 6 IB makes our value list. "Superb" according to Neal Martin and "excellent" according to James Suckling.  We have not tasted this yet but friends in the trade who have back up the praise heaped on the wine from the critics.

---

Siran was one classy Margaux when we tasted it and at £116 per 6 and with 93-95 from Neal Martin this is the bargain pick of the appellation.

---

Laroque is the best scoring wine in our list with 95- 97 from Lisa Perotti-Brown. At £105 per 6 this matches the score of another successful St Emilion Valandraud but at 1/5th of the price. A Bargain!

---

It will come as no surprise to our customers that it is three wines made by the late Denis Durantou that complete our list.
Chenade at £75 per 6 and from the older vines Cruzelles at £97 per 6. Montlandrie grabs impressive scores this year and is a steal at £79 per 6.

---

Not quite making our under £25 a bottle cut but still cellar fillers we again want to highlight left bank bargains that scream value in their appellations. Langoa Barton from St Julien at £177 per 6 and Pauillac estate Batailley at £168 per 6. Buy these and you will be hugely impressed for years to come.
