As Antonio Galloni notes, "Pomerol is one of the real sweet spots in 2018". Chateau Clinet is achieving great things, and with their 2018 owner Ronan Laborde considers it to be the quintessential Clinet, riding "the line between finesse and richness, power and elegance.  A wine made for long-lasting pleasure."  In recent vintages they have shown restraint with their price, making it certainly one of the most affordable on the Pomerol plateau and a very good proposition given their reviews.  Hard to find when mature, Clinet is one to follow every year. 96-99 JD - "It’s going to be hard to resist on release and knock your socks off over the following two decades or more".

Staying in Pomerol, Chateau Gazin is one of the famous names of the plateau and the 2018 sees it firing on all cylinders. Antonio Galloni - "The 2018 Gazin was impressive all three times I tasted it. 96-99 JD -Sporting a saturated purple color, it has a massive perfume of black and blue fruits, crushed violets, spice, and orange blossom. Full-bodied, deep, expansive, and layered on the palate, it's an incredibly hedonistic and sexy wine that shows the best of this great vintage. It’s going to be hard to resist on release and knock your socks off over the following two decades or more?.

97 Dec - One of the star Pomerol names showing us how it’s done in 2018. This wine absolutely stands out, being beautifully vibrant and very polished, where you feel the individual strands of flavour and know it’s clearly going to age.

GAZIN  |   £756 per 12x75  /   £378 per 6x75
93-96 WS - Dark plum and blackberry reduction flavors pick up light ganache and licorice snap notes along the way. Has the vintage's grip on the back end, giving this a serious feel.
