Tasting Notes

Sweet, generous, juicy fruit. Lots of smoky character too. Rounded, supple but with fine tannic definition on the finish. Good, ageworthy potential.

Fine deep colour, good Cabernet and Merlot fruit, good ripenss and nice finish, good wine.

A lovely nose of actual richness here. Rich middle, fresh and well balanced. Nicely done.

Dark stone fruits, smoke, tobacco and new leather are some of the notes that emerge from the 2013 Cos Labory. The 2013 possesses good depth and immediacy, but the tannins are a bit rough around the edges at this stage. Overall, this is a solid showing.

Score: 85 - 88 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com Date: 01 April 2014

Good spice, light berry and mineral character in this wine. Medium body, firm tannins and a crisp finish. Nicely done here for the vintage.

I tasted two samples of this wine. Firstly at a negoçiant, it had a surprisingly perfumed bouquet with simple but charming strawberry and raspberry fruit laced with cedar and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, well judged acidity and an impressive sense of harmony and composure on the finish. This is a successful wine from the estate for the vintage - one of its most pleasant surprises. Secondly at the Union de Grand Cru, it did not flow as much as the previous sample and seemed a little harder. My score is equidistant between my evaluations.
