Tasting Notes

A sexy, open-knit 2011, Larrivet Haut-Brion exhibits lots of cherry, cassis and smoky, spicy notes as well as a meaty, seductive style with excellent texture, medium to full body and no hard edges. Performing well already, this fleshy effort will be even better in 3-4 years, and will last for 15-20.

Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2017-2037 Date: 01 April 2014

This excellent, somewhat under-the-radar estate has turned in a sleeper of the vintage in 2011. The wine-s dark plum/ruby/purple color is accompanied by copious aromas of sweet black currants, loamy soil and barriques. With good acidity, a high quality mid-palate and finish, and velvety tannin, it will offer enjoyment over the next 10-12 years.

Score: 88 - 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2012-2024 Date: 30 April 2012

Dark, but open in feel, with currant and plum steeped nicely together, laced with hints of tobacco and black tea. Silky finish.
