The 2022 Cos d'Estournel Blanc has a delineated and focused bouquet with limestone, Granny Smith, grapefruit and beeswax touches. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity, though it is the texture that is most appealing. Again, it is a little waxy but with endearing harmony and a subtle spicy residue on the aftertaste. There are no fireworks—it's just a fine, dry white Bordeaux. The 2022 Cos d'Estournel Blanc is a blend of 74% Sauvignon Blanc and 26% Sémillon. Rich and creamy on the palate, the 2022 Cos Blanc offers up a striking mix of orchard fruit, chamomile, tangerine oil, mint and spice. Vinification and aging in barrel emphasizes the wine's inherent oiliness and weight. This is a serious, structured white for the dinner table. Even more impressive, the 2022 Château Cos D'Estournel Blanc is 74% Sauvignon Blanc and 26% Sémillon brought up all in used oak. A focused, pure, seamless white, it has obvious minerality in its lemon and lime fruits as well as mint and leafy herb nuances. Hitting 13.4% alcohol with a pH of 3.2, it's going to benefit from a year or three of bottle age and drink beautifully over the following decade at least.
