Deep berry fruits, but this has been skilfully handled over ageing, fresh mint leaf notes that add a streak of freshness, good stuff, with plenty of slate texture. 28hl/h yield, following hail, 60% new oak for ageing. Harvest September 6 through to 27. Score: 93 Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2027-2036 Date: 06 March 2025 |

The 2022 Le Marquis de Calon Ségur is driven by Merlot on the nose, with vivid red cherry and crushed strawberry scents soaring from the glass while maintaining delineation and freshness. The medium-bodied palate offers a bit of sucrosity on the entry, transitioning into a more structured and classically styled middle and finish, with hints of black truffle emerging towards the end. This is simply a delicious Marquis de Calon Ségur. Score: 91 Neal Martin, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2026-2040 Date: 12 February 2025 |

The 2022 Le Marquis de Calon Ségur is dense, powerful and imposing. Black cherry, plum, incense, new leather and licorice infuse the Marquis with notable textural richness. Concentrated and tannic, the natural weight and density of the year is very much in evidence. Score: 90 Antonio Galloni, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2025-2037 Date: 28 January 2025 |

The second wine of Calon Ségur, the 2022 Le Marquis De Calon is more Merlot-dominated and checks in as 58% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2% each of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. It has an up-front, lush, medium to full-bodied style as well as textbook notes of darker, currant-like fruits, leafy herbs, and lead pencil savings. It's an outstanding second wine that will shine right out of the gate. Score: 91 - 93 Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com Date: 05 October 2023 |

One of several over-performing second wines in this vintage is the 2022 Le Marquis de Calon-Ségur, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and seamless Saint-Estèphe redolent of minty berries, licorice and rose petals. Lively and penetrating, it punches above its weight. Score: 91 - 93 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Date: 28 April 2023 |
