This has really kept its style from En Primeur, with clarity and lift to the fruit, bright blueberry, graphite, savoury, raspberry leaf and fresh fruits, soft extractions, a little austere, as is classic in the vintage. 50% new oak (500l casks), and then the rest up to 5 years old so neutral oak impact. Low yields of 20hl/h yields after frost and mildew. Organic certified since 2014. Score: 92 Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2025-2038 Date: 26 March 2024 |

The 2021 Quinault L’Enclos is a potent, savory wine. The Merlot is way down this year and the Cabernets are up, which confers a decidedly savory character. The 2021 was aged in 500- and 600-liter casks, plus 25HL foudres. In short, Quinault offers a fine picture of the vintage. It’s all there— with plenty bright acids and tons of savory/earthy character. Score: 93 Antonio Galloni, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2026-2036 Date: 27 February 2024 |

The 2021 Quinault l'Enclos, of which 50% of the crop was lost due to mildew, has a mixture of red and black fruit on the nose, hints of licorice coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with strict tannins, very linear and saline in style. It’s a bit short and, you could argue, mean, though it keeps you coming back for more. 59% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Franc, 18% Cabernet Franc. Forward, fruity and fragrant. Light and round on the palate, the structure delicate but fine. Digeste and for drinking on the fruit. (JL) 13% Score: 15+ Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2025-2032 Date: 13 May 2022 |

Pretty blue fruit with graphite and fine, juicy tannins. Medium-bodied with a fine, silky texture. 59% merlot, 23% cabernet franc and 18% cabernet sauvignon. Score: 92 - 93 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com Date: 01 May 2022 |

The 2021 Quinault l'Enclos delivers aromas of cherries, strawberries and warm spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping palate that's supple and charming, with lively acids and a demonstrative, fruit-driven style. Some 80% of the blend is matured in foudres rather than barriques. It's produced by Cheval Blanc's winemaking team. Score: 88 - 90 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Date: 29 April 2022 |

From the team at Cheval Blanc, the 2021 Château Quinault L'Enclos is another impeccably made wine that has more red and blue fruits, some violet and peppery herb nuances, medium body, and the precise, focused, elegant style of the vintage front and center. It's finesse-driven, yet still brings texture and richness and will unquestionably be an outstanding wine. Score: 91 - 93 Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com Date: 06 February 2022 |
