Bright ruby colour, with vivid violet reflections, giving it an edge over many sibling estates in the appellation. This is bright and cheery, with crunchy redcurrant, blueberry and greengage acidities, has momentum through the palate, smoked earth, capsicum, savoury Cabernet Sauvignon character. Plenty of grip and will offer enjoyable medium term drinking. 36hl/h yield. Score: 92 Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2026-2040 Date: 02 April 2024 |

The 2021 Prieuré-Lichine is a very classy, understated Margaux. The purity of the fruit is quite striking. Succulent red/purplish fruit, rose petal, cinnamon, mint and blood orange are beautifully laced together. Silky tannins wrap it all together in style. Pretty floral top notes grace the finish. This is a fine showing. Score: 92 Antonio Galloni, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2026-2038 Date: 27 February 2024 |

The 2021 Prieuré-Lichine has a cohesive and commendable bouquet, a mixture of red and black fruit with a touch of cedar and graphite. The palate is medium-bodied with a fresh entry and sapid red fruit, nicely structured if missing some length on the finish. Give this three or four years in bottle. Score: 89 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2027-2040 Date: 22 February 2024 |

Purplish crimson. Solid, substantial, young red bordeaux that doesn’t taste as though it came from an underripe vintage. Mouth-filling with quite enough fruit and decided freshness. Plus quite a bit of ripe tannin on the end. More concentrated than most Margaux. Very solid performance even if a little chunkier than archetypal Margaux. Score: 16+ James Lawther MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2028-2042 Date: 06 May 2022 |

The 2021 Prieuré-Lichine shows promise, exhibiting aromas of sweet berries, petals, loamy soil and cigar wrapper. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and seamless, with ripe tannins and a fleshy core of fruit, it's a fine-boned, nicely balanced wine that concludes with a persistent finish. Score: 90 - 92 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Date: 29 April 2022 |

Lots of violets, blue fruits, and spicy oak notes define the 2021 Château Prieuré-Lichine, which shows more red fruits and sandalwood notes with time in the glass. Medium-bodied, elegant, and pretty, it's a classic Margaux in the making that will shine for its complexity and nuance more than outright power or richness.
