Tasting Notes

The 2016 Haut-Bergey Blanc offers notable richness and plenty of up-front appeal. Pineapple, mango and a host of exotic floral notes give this suave, layered white its distinctive personality. Drink it over the next few years.

The Haut Bergey 2016 Blanc was lacking much in the way of complexity on the nose whilst the palate felt slightly honeyed on the entry and lacked real acidity towards the finish. Early drinking only.

Owned by the Garcin family, this has a clear creaminess to the texture, and a very enjoyable citrus expression freshened up by a touch of rose petal. A classic Sauvignon Blanc / Sémillon mix, aged in 50% new oak for 12 months in various barrel sizes.

Rich and oily with dried-lemon, pear and apple character. Full body. Savory, salty finish.

Score: 90 - 91 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com Date: 04 April 2017

Has a ripe and rounded feel, with a mix of melon, lime curd, pear and blanched almond notes. Has good spine, and should pull together while remaining in an open-knit, flattering style.
