Tasting Notes

100% Merlot. The nose is reserved but hiding a big depth of fruit and the palate is unctuous and spicy with caressing tannins. Rich constitution but a gentler hand than some years. Tannins present but finely honed. Great expression of Merlot.

The 2015 Le Plus de la Fleur de Bouärd offers notable density and plenty of impact. Black cherry, smoke, mocha, plum, licorice, torrefaction and bittersweet chocolate are some of the signatures. There is plenty of richness in the glass, but the ripe, heavily extracted style also comes with a loss of freshness. Readers should expect a big wine. Tasted two times.

Very dark purple. Opulent concentration on the nose. Veering towards syrupy on the finish too. For those who hanker after the turbo-charged right bank wines of old.

The 2015 La Fleur de Bouard Le Plus has an intense, corpulent, ravishing bouquet with sexy blueberry, blackberry and cassis aromas shrouded by just a touch of alcohol. The palate is full-bodied with dense, but polished tannin. This is a harmonious Lalande-de-Pomerol, sleek and smooth with layers of sweet black fruit, but it just misses the precision and refinement that others possess. Still, it feels long in the mouth - one for those seeking hedonistic pleasure.

Incredible depth of fruit with blackberry and blueberry character as well as walnut shell and chocolate. Full body, balanced. Very long finish. Best ever? 100% merlot.
