A broad, juicy style, with anise, yellow apple and white peach notes that are open and inviting, backed by light brioche and candied citrus hints. Has some zip, but more flattering in style overall.

Pale lemon yellow. Rather sweet vanilla nose. Big and bold on the palate. Then lots of Sauvignon raciness on the finish. Pleasing but a tad sweeter than some.

The 2015 Carbonnieux Blanc is a blend of 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon. It has a tightly wound grapefruit, white peach and citrus scented bouquet that slowly unfurls in the glass. Given a couple of minutes, it attains impressive harmony and focus. The palate is well defined on the entry, very crisp and pure, seguing into a saline finish that lingers nicely in the mouth. This is a very well-crafted Carbonnieux Blanc with class and poise.
