The 2010 Mazis-Chambertin is explosive and totally beautiful in every way. Sweet red berries, roses, mint and hard candy come together in a striking display of class. Rousseau says the Mazis gets better with age, a frightening prospect considering just how good the wine is today. An endless, seamless finish is the only fitting conclusion. The Mazis is flat-out great. Score: 94 - 96 Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2025-2035 01 February 2012 |

A completely different nose features much more in the way of sauvage notes and the underlying fruit slides over to the blue side of the spectrum along with plenty of earth and soft spice nuances. The rich, round and beautifully textured flavors also enjoy an abundance of dry extract that coats the palate and buffers the firm tannins that will assist this mineral-driven and beautifully balanced effort to age for decades. Score: 92 - 94 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2025+ 10 January 2012 |
