Tasting Notes

A blend of 65% Sauvignon Blanc and 35% Semillon, the nose on the Carbonnieux Blanc displays fine minerality with some attractive limestone scents, almost Burgundy-like in fruit profile. The palate is nicely balanced on the entry, missing a little fruit intensity on the entry but it has a pleasant build towards a sedate pear and pithy finish. Fine. Tasted April 2012.

Score: 85 - 87

Vivacious Sauvignon aromas dominate, lovely ripeness and acidity, balance and charm.

Score: 16 - 17

Decanter, Decanter.com Maturity: 2013-2016 16 April 2012

Water white and a little cloudy. Sweet, creamy, mealy oak on the nose. Vanilla and ripe stone fruit. Crisp sour grapefruit on the palate and arrow-like freshness. Really direct and intense. Tight and long. Tangy aftertaste. A little masochistic but good overall.

Score: 16

Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2015-2024 13 April 2012

Riveting acidity carries the sweet pea, mâche, chalk and kaffir lime notes in this superracy, light-bodied version.

Score: 90 - 93
