Tasting Notes

Has lemon and mineral aromas, with light vanilla, honey, cream and white pepper. Full-bodied, firm and racy, with a lovely balance of ripe fruit and acidity. Long and complex. Best after 2008. 790 cases made.

Score: 94

Notes of lemon oil, honeyed grapefruit, and other assorted citrus, along with full-bodied, elegant flavors, fine acidity, and a stony, waxy character emerge from the outstanding 2004 Haut-Brion Blanc. (Tasting note from issue #165)

Score: 94

Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 June 2007

Brilliant yellow color. Musky aromas of ginger, roasted nuts and honey. Wonderfully large-scaled, round and ripe, conveying a powerful sense of solidity. Tactile, sweet and extremely complex, with honeyed soil tones currently dominating stone fruit and mineral flavors. Finishes dry and classic, with outstanding breadth. Today this seems fresher and fruitier than the 2004 Laville Haut-Brion.

Score: 95

Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 01 May 2006

Great richness - fatness even - on the nose. Melon, rather open already, figs, very expressive. Very exciting if embryonic. Lime cordial and finesse with spicy notes. Very clean and well-defined and long. Really good - fuller and denser than Laville. (51% SB, 49 % Sem)

Score: 18 - 19
