The 2004 Rauzan-Ségla showed well, and this has always been an understated, elegant vintage for Bordeaux. Notes of dried tobacco, lead pencil, currants, and macerated cherries all give way to a medium-bodied, fresh, fully mature 2004 that has notable elegance and purity. Drink it any time over the coming decade. Score: 89 Jeb Dunnuck, JebDunnuck.com Maturity: 2019-2029 01 May 2019 |

Rauzan-Segla’s finesse-styled 2004 offers raspberry, cherry, forest floor, and dried herb-like characteristics in its deep ruby/purple-hued, medium-bodied personality. With excellent purity, freshness, and precision, it is not a blockbuster claret, but rather a stylish, elegant, accessible effort with sweet tannin. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2022. Score: 89 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2009-2022 01 June 2007 |

Very pretty aromas of blackberry and vanilla. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a delightful finish. Not a big wine, but pretty and attractive. Hard not to drink now. Best after 2009. Score: 90 James Suckling, Wine Spectator Maturity: 2009+ 31 March 2007 |
