Tasting Notes

The deep garnet colored 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard features gorgeous crushed plums, spicy blackberries, crème de cassis and Chinese five spice with potpourri and nuances of dried herbs, lavender, black tea and loads of crushed rocks, tilled soil and underbrush accents. Full-bodied and absolutely laden with earth and spice accents, it has a firm and grainy texture with exhilarating yet seamless freshness, finishing very long.

(15.5% alcohol): Bright, dark red with ruby tones. Rich, complex, rather claret-like aromas of plum, black raspberry, iron, licorice, violet and graphite, with complicating notes of caramel and mocha. Large-scaled, rich and ripe, conveying compelling sweetness to its red berry, mocha and mineral flavors. Not the most delineated vintage for this bottling but remarkably plush and full. Finishes with big, ripe, dusty tannins and outstanding lingering sweetness.

A profound wine from a superb Napa vintage for Bordeaux varietals, the 2007’s nose may cause one to overdose on blue, black and red berry fruit. The extraordinary intensity, purity and depth in this rich, flamboyant, exuberant wine are mindboggling. This bigger-than-life Cabernet Sauvignon appears set for 20-30 years of aging. It can be drunk now, but because of its sweet, velvety tannins, it will still be offering sensational drinking in 2040.
