The 2022 Doisy-Védrines has a fragrant nose with admirable purity, featuring wild honey, quince and light saffron notes unfolding in the glass. The palate is viscous on the entry, with a keen line of acidity and good weight, as you always find with DV, though it needs a touch more sustain on the aftertaste. The 2022 Doisy-Vedrines is classy, understated and supremely polished. It unfolds in the glass with tropical-inflected notes of tangerine oil, passion fruit and exotic flowers. Intense sunflower colour, with fig and dried apricot on the nose. The Castéja family have teased impressive freshness out of the richness of this wine, giving edges of lime zest to the silky, concentrated fruits and textures which are found in all the sweet wines in 2022.
