Fig and damson fruits, with bitter almond and chocolate block concentration; has character and punch, and plenty of slate Left Bank character. 15 September to 6 October for harvest. Vialard family. Score: 91 Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2026-2038 09 May 2023 |

This Haut-Médoc stalwart continues its subtle stylistic evolution towards more charm and finesse with the 2022 Cissac, a strong effort evocative of graphite, tobacco, smoke, cassis and violets mingled with well-integrated hints of oak. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and layered, it's classy and vibrant, concluding with a slightly austere finish. This long-lived red is a blend of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 5.5% Petit Verdot and the rest Malbec. YC Score: 89 - 91 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 28 April 2023 |

Structured and meaty with medium body and chalky tannins. Polished finish with hints of crushed stones. Score: 90 - 91 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 12 April 2023 |

The 2022 Cissac has a "correct" bouquet with blackberry, briary and light tobacco scents emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with strict tannins, fresh and grippy, with a slightly minty finish. A kind of "carefree" Cissac…and I like that. But it doesn't quite get the pulse racing. Score: 88 - 90 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2025-2038 11 April 2023 |
