The second wine, the 2006 La Dame de Montrose, is a shrewd choice for wine consumers. A blend of 58% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 12% Cabernet Franc, plus a small quantity of Petit Verdot, it is a layered, lush, fleshy effort possessing ripe red and black fruits interwoven with hints of earth and spice box. Plush, round, and sexy, it should be enjoyed during its first 10-12 years of life. Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2009-2021 01 February 2009 |

Dark crimson. Scented and very opulent. Lovely for now. Truly juicy and sweet - black fruits and liquorice. Sweet and easy - just not very concentrated. Succulent start and only a problem on the finish where the tannins start to bite. For early drinking - very well managed. Though pretty tannic and dry on the finish. Score: 17 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2013-2017 01 April 2007 |

A little diluted, but some clean berry and tobacco character. Medium-bodied. Slightly angular tannins. Score: 80 - 84 James Suckling, Wine Spectator 01 April 2007 |

The second wine of Montrose, in 2006 this is 57% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Francand 13% Petit Verdot, representing 22% of the production. Deep and dark, with ripe black fruit and some smoky yeastiness. On the palate there is some sweet fruit but it feels a bit narrow and light with very chewy tannins. Score: 86 - 88 Albany Vintners, - 01 April 2007 |

Tasted at the château. A fine truffle-scented nose that is quite opulent for a Saint Estèphe. Blackberries, redcurrants and a touch of dates. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, very approachable and perhaps lacking a little stuffing, with a plump, rounded finish. Just lacking a little breeding for me. Tasted April 2007. Score: 83 - 85 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 April 2007 |
