A discreetly spicy nose features attractive notes of tea, violet, red pinot and a whiff of sandalwood. There is equally good density to the more refined medium weight flavors that possess a velvety texture that carries over the lingering and balanced finish. This is one of my village Burgundies of the vintage, a superb Vosne from the alarmingly youthful Maxime Cheurlin. It's everything you'd expect from a stylish 2017, with floral perfume and layers of bramble, red cherry and raspberry fruit, combining with succulent tannins and well-handled 50% new wood.
