Moderate reduction is enough to overshadow the underlying fruit though there is both good freshness and vibrancy to the caressing but attractively punchy and textured flavors that possess solid concentration, all wrapped in a refreshingly dry finale. This could use better depth, but the potential appears to be present such that more can develop with a few years of bottle aging. The 2020 Chassagne Montrachet Les Chaumees Clos St Abdon 1er Cru is very pretty on the nose: Golden Delicious, hints of yellow plum and light petrichor scents. The palate is very well balanced with a fine line of acidity, quite spicy with veins of gingers towards the composed and quite persistent finish. This is very promising.
