A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, the 1998 Lupicaia reveals a dark, saturated ruby/purple color along with a sweet nose of black currants, espresso, and chocolate. Dense, rich, and muscular, it needs an additional 1-3 years of cellaring, and should drink well for 12-15 years. Score: 90 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2002 - 2016 30 October 2001 |

Impenetrable ruby-black. Splendid, harmonious aromas of cassis, vanilla and mocha. Rich, dense, velvety and caressing; flavors of blackcurrant and spice. Very concentrated but without the slightest hardness. Seamless, vigorous and unflagging. An elegant wine with great potential. Score: 93 Daniel Thomases, Vinous.com 01 July 2000 |
