Old school balance of fruit, acidity and tannins, a little dominanted by the acidity, attractive white pepper and sage spices, chaming cassis and pomegrante fruit, earthy charm. This is a 2nd wine that I often enjoy, but it is a little overly marked by the vintage here. Score: 86 Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2025-2038 02 April 2024 |

The 2021 Meyney comes across as severe in feel, light and unusually compact. Cedar, mint, spice, iron and white pepper struggle to emerge. This needs more mid-palate depth and more of a delicate hand. Score: 89 Antonio Galloni, Inside Bordeaux Maturity: 2024-2033 27 February 2024 |

The 2021 Meyney, which has been on a strong run of form of late, has a lovely bouquet with vivid red berry fruit, crushed stone and orange rind scents that are focused and lively. The palate is medium-bodied with a structured opening (as you would expect), more fruit concentration than its peers and a truffle-tinged finish. This will cruise nicely over the next 15 to 20 years. Score: 92 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2028-2045 22 February 2024 |

Cask sample. Excellent depth of flavour and ripeness. Sappy with no skinniness. Really no sign that this was a difficult vintage. Complete. Fresh with ripe tannins dominated by vibrant, ripe fruit. It even has some impressive persistence. It’s not super-ripe but is certainly ripe enough. Score: 17 Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2027-2042 06 May 2022 |

A pretty wine with currant, cherry and some spices, such as nutmeg. Subtle this year. Medium body. Score: 91 - 92 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com 01 May 2022 |

Offering up aromas of cassis, blackberries, spices and creamy new oak, the 2021 Meyney is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with lively acids, powdery tannins and an impressively rich, textural profile for the vintage. It's a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 12% Petit Verdot. Score: 89 - 91 William Kelley, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 29 April 2022 |
