Tasting Notes

Aromas of strong petrol, rosemary oil and a whiff of the exotic in the form of dried apricot peel lead to dense, rich, full-bodied and succulent flavors that brim with dry extract before concluding in a firm, youthfully austere and sneaky long finish. This is really very good and particularly for its level.

Score: 89

From parcels situated on the village's alluvial fan that ripen preciously and are among the first to be harvested, Colin's 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Cuvée Margot bursts with aromas of apples, fresh peaches, honeycomb and warm bread. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and charming, with lively acids underpinning its sun-kissed core of fruit, it has turned out nicely.

Score: 88 - 90

The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Village "Margot", the name of this particular cuvée rather than the lieu-dit, comes from four parcels and is raised in 15% new oak. It has a well defined bouquet with orange pith and yellow plum aromas that gain intensity with aeration. The palate is full of energy with impressive depth, gorgeous orange zest and mandarin notes, almond and a little walnut. Very harmonious and very persistent on the finish, this punches well above its weight.

From 4 plots. Pale lemon and lime colour, quite a tight white fruit nose, suddenly at the back of the mouth arrives an explosion of fruit, quite tropical, but still defined mostly by very ripe apple. Genial, but unexpected. The fruit stays long in the mouth.
