The domaine's flagship wine coming from 1.60ha which start lower on the slope and rises steeply. Very old vines in the hotter lower part, while the upper part gets much more wind. Lemon and lime colour, this wine marries the power and sunny depths of Pouilly-Fuisse with something much more ethereal, backed by a very good thread of electricity. Opening in the glass with notes of pear, citrus oil, white flowers and wet stones, the 2019 Pouilly-Fuissé Clos Sur la Roche is medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with fine cut and grip. It's the most tightly wound and incisive of these 2019 and consequently—to my palate—the most promising.
