Tasting Notes

The 2019 Malartic Lagravière Blanc has a taut, fresh nose of Granny Smith apples, kiwi fruit and touches of white peach that emerge with aeration. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, displaying good weight and delineation and a nice sour lemon note underlying the concentration. The almost clinical finish conveys superb tension. This will drink very well for the next 15–20 years.

The 2019 Malartic Lagravière Blanc was picked from 4 September to 16 September at 47hl/ha and is matured on the lees in 55% new oak. This has a composed bouquet with light tropical notes of pineapple and passion fruit that soon give way to more malic, green apple and gooseberry scents. It is well defined and intense on the palate with a tangy saline entry. Certainly there is very good depth and tension. A welcome touch of bitter lemon imparts tension on the finish. Very fine.

The 2019 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc is a super distinctive white that deftly balances fruit richness with energy, all in the weightless, transparent style that is such a signature here. Orchard fruit, flowers, mint and white pepper pulse with notable energy. The 2019 Blanc is absolutely gorgeous and well worth seeking out. I loved it.

The 2019 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc is super-elegant and refined. Sweet perfumed citrus, mint, sage and floral overtones open up first, followed by light tropical inflections that recall the warmth of summer. Creamy and beautifully textured in the glass, the Blanc has so much to offer. There is more than enough brightness to balance the natural radiance of the year, with a good bit of power in reserve as well.

Strikes a balance between flint and creamy stone fruits, with pulses of fennel that add just the right amount of bitterness. Great momentum through the palate, this is really an excellent wine full of life and vivacity, feels skilful and makes you want to go back for more. Harvest September 4 to 16.

Crisp and bright Sauvignon character but with added depth, flesh and mouthfeel that comes across in a lovely expansion through the mid palate, and slate walls to drag things down to a snail's pace through the finish. Accomplished and classy with savoury stone fruits and rosemary edging.

Composed of 76.1% Sauvignon Blanc and 23.9% Semillon, the 2019 Blanc was harvested from the 4th of September to the 16th of September. It is aging on the lees in French oak barrels, 55% new, for an anticipated 12-14 months. It comes skipping out of the glass with vivacious, cheery scents of white grapefruit, lime leaves and orange blossoms with wafts of white peaches, coriander seed and beeswax. Medium to full-bodied, I LOVE the intensity and texture on the palate, with an electric line of freshness and loads of citrus and mineral layers paving the finish.

Bright pineapple, honeyed peach, and floral notes all emerge from the 2019 Château Malartic-Lagraviere Blanc. This nicely textured, medium-bodied white has integrated acidity, good length, and is going to drink nicely right out of the gate.

Really intense and powerful with great density and energy, showing sliced limes, green apples, stone and minerals. It’s full-bodied and very long. Extremely minerally with precision and brightness. Clear and transparent. Wow.
