Tasting Notes

Mid ruby. Juicy and scented with red fruit and a light (good) savoury mushroom note. Juicy and full of energy, freshness from acidity and the fine, dry tannins. Lively and good freshness in this vintage.

A different aromatic profile presents much more forest floor and sauvage-infused aromas of red currant and poached plum. The rich, caressing and suave medium weight flavors are shaped by slightly riper tannins on the better balanced finale. This is quite good though note that it is a firmly structured and ageworthy Gevrey villages. Outstanding Top value

The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Village offers slightly smudged red fruit on the nose, earthier than the domaine’s village crus and perhaps without the same level of complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, good acidity, gentle grip and a touch of black pepper toward the finish. This actually bunches the quality toward the end of the wine; hopefully the aromatics will liven up in bottle.
