Ripe and seductive, rich in red fruits. Firm, chalky, deep in texture. Not quite as fresh as the Morey La Riotte but the fruit is bright enough to fill out the serious structure. Score: 17+ Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com Maturity: 2026-2035 14 January 2020 |

This too evidences just a hint of volatile acidity that also serves to add a bit of lift to the liqueur-like aromas of plum, cassis and port. The exceptionally rich, full-bodied and tautly muscular flavors brim with palate soaking dry extract that also buffers the exceptionally firm tannic spine shaping the powerful, serious and impressively long finish where the only nit is a hint of warmth. While not exactly a classically styled Corton, it does have the typical size, weight and punch of one. Score: 91 - 93 Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2033+ 10 January 2020 |

The 2018 Corton-Rognet Grand Cru has one of the most opulent bouquets from Romain Taupenot this year, featuring open-knit red cherry, kirsch, orange pith and fig aromas. The spicy palate is medium-bodied with a sweet core of fruit, saturated tannins and touches of white pepper and clove toward the finish, which lacks complexity compared to the other crus. Score: 91 - 93 Neal Martin, Vinous.com Maturity: 2023-2038 01 January 2020 |

Corton Rognet is on the Ladoix side of the hill of Corton and can produce red as well as white wines (the latter as Corton-Charlemagne). This was picked comparatively early at Taupenot-Merme and has a winning alliance of the muscularity and ferrous notes of the terroir with refreshing acidity and characteristically well-handled oak. Score: 95 Tim Atkin MW, Decanter.com 20 October 2018 |
