Generous wood fights a bit with the notably ripe aromas of plum, cassis, flowers and earth. There is excellent size, weight and power to the attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess excellent length on the firm and mineral-inflected finish. The 2012 Corton La Vigne au Saint is a bit reduced today, especially in its aromatics. Here the style is rich, powerful and enveloping, with huge layers of fruit and a personality built on texture and a pure sense of volume above all else.
