The 2006 Suisassi (Syrah) is a gorgeous effort redolent of ripe dark fruit, violets, French oak, minerals and new leather. The wine possesses superb vibrancy, clarity and definition in a style that manages to be medium in body despite achieving surprising richness. Although the wine is delicious today, it could use a few years in bottle for the oak to better integrate. The Suisassi was fermented and aged in French oak barrels, the same technique D'Attoma uses with Le Macchiole's Scrio. Score: 93 Antonio Galloni, Vinous.com Maturity: 2013-2021 01 August 2009 |

Fabulous aromas of black pepper, blackberry and grilled meat. Black licorice too. Big and juicy on the palate, with cool yet ripe fruit, from blueberries to mulberries.
