Deep, opaque black/garnet core. The nose has much more definition and vigour than the ’91 with sweet ripe black cherries, bilberry and violets. Very lifted and lively. The palate is sweet, ripe and elegant with a lovely poise and tension, certainly the best Croft since the ’66. Very ripe tannins with black cherries, bilberry, cassis and a minerally quality coming through towards the finish. A return to form, a lovely Croft with a coquettish quality. Tasted November 2007. Score: 93 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com 01 January 2000 |

The essence of grapes. Full-bodied and tannic, yet very classy and refined. It's got grip, but rather than smashing you over the head with structure, it seduces gently with its wonderful, well-toned muscles. Best Croft since '45. Best after 2010. Score: 96 James Suckling, JamesSuckling.com Maturity: 2010+ 30 April 1997 |
