Like the Suchots this is markedly floral in nature with a slightly darker fruit profile and an even wider range of spice elements. There is outstanding volume and richness to the palate soaking middle weight plus flavors that possess a seductive, even opulent texture on the firm and mocha-inflected finale. (from the lieu-dit Les Treux, adjacent to Grands-Echézeaux): Dark ruby-red. Cool minty lift to the aromas of blackberry and licorice. At once densely packed and lively, conveying an impression of tactile concentration to its blackberry, boysenberry, crushed black cherry and spice flavors. Not as lush as the Suchots; in fact, utterly primary and unformed, with its tannins arriving earlier. Wonderfully pure wine. Score: 92 - 95 Stephen Tanzer, Vinous.com 01 January 2017 |
