Tasting Notes

The 2016 Le Petit Haut Lafitte Blanc, matured in 50% new oak, has a fresh bouquet of yellow flowers and hints of orange blossom; it’s quite tight at the moment and would probably benefit from decanting. The palate is well balanced with a fresh, saline entry, fine depth and well-integrated wood. Hints of grapefruit and orange pith furnish the finish, which exhibits good length. Very fine.

Score: 92

The 2016 Le Petit Haut Lafitte Blanc is deep, layered and very pretty. A hint of new oak frames the orchard fruit and floral notes nicely, while tropical overtones add a dash of exotic flair. All the elements simply meld together in a striking, inviting wine endowed with terrific balance and tons of pure appeal. The interplay of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon works beautifully here.

Fruity and savory white with cooked-apple and lemon character. Medium to full body and a minerally finish. 80% sauvignon and 20% semillon.

Fresh and forward, with a slight plump hint to the mix of white peach, salted butter and yellow apple notes.
