Tasting Notes | ||||

Tasted single blind at Southwold. There is little on the nose, save for traces of blackberry leaf and hedgerow. But the palate is showing a good level of ripeness, a little sharp and abrasive on the entry, but maintaining a good level of freshness. The main problems is that is seems a little astringent on the earthy finish. Drink now-2012. Score: 86 Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2009-2012 31 July 2009 |

Stylish and elegant, this 2005 has as much in common with a Cote de Beaune premier cru as it does with a Pomerol. Kirsch, raspberry, seaweed, and loamy soil aromas lead to a medium-bodied, finesse-styled claret possessing sweet tannin, pure fruit, and a sensual personality. It begs to be consumed over the next decade. Score: 88 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2008-2018 30 April 2008 |
