Tasting Notes

Firm reduction once again flattens the underlying fruit. There is more volume and richness to the mid-palate thanks to the abundant dry extract that coats the palate on the citrus-inflected finale that possesses fine depth but not the length of the straight Puligny villages on the clean and balanced finish. To be sure this is pretty and certainly a quality effort but I prefer the energy and verve of the former.

Score: 88 - 91

Allen Meadows, Burghound Maturity: 2019+ 15 June 2016

(these very old vines produced tiny grapes and just 25 hectoliters per hectare in 2014): Pale, bright yellow. Ripe but reticent aromas of yellow fruits. Fat, rich and rather powerful, with white peach, pear and herb flavors showing a slight heaviness. Seems a bit low in acidity but finishes with good length.

Score: 89 - 91
