Tasting Notes | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Bin 707's dense ruby/purple color is followed by a tight but promising nose of black currants, leather, and licorice. In the mouth, there are abundant quantities of black currant fruit as well as hints of creosote, earth, truffles, and subtle oak. The acidity is high, much of it probably added, which is unfortunate as the raw materials look impressive. The high acidity compresses the palate and pinches the finish. Nevertheless, this is a very good Cabernet that should drink well for 10-12 years. Score: 87 Robert Parker, Wine Advocate, RobertParker.com Maturity: 2002-2014 01 October 2002 |

A serious red, dense with color and packed with mint- and bay leaf-scented cherry and currant flavors, finishing with a dusky note as it all lingers on the fine-grained finish. Needs cellaring. Best after 2004. 12,000 cases made. Score: 91 Winespectator.com, Wine Spectator Maturity: 2004+ 30 September 2002 |
