Burgundy 2017: HENRI BOILLOT

In a relatively short space of time Henri Boillot has established an excellent reputation for his pure, powerful racy whites and in 2017 he has really excelled with some of the finest examples of the vintage.  Harvesting early, the grapes are carefully vinified and oak impact is kept to a minimum.

There are also some very fine reds this year, looked after by his son Guillaume, that are highlighted for special praise by both Neal Martin and Wiliam Kelley.

2017 VOLNAY 1er Cru LES CAILLERETS - £438 per 6x75cl IB - “full-bodied, ample and layered, with good concentration and depth and a fine-grained chassis of tannin." 92-94pts William Kelley
2017 BOURGOGNE CHARDONNAY - £97.50 per 6x75cl IB - “generous core of delicately textural fruit, framed by juicy acids and concluding with a stony finish. It's one of the finest examples of the appellation to be found." 89pts William Kelley
