Exciting top quality wines, quintessentially Chablis, at a fraction of the price of other top producers. The Billaud family have been making Chablis for 4 generations. Samuel Billaud was responsible for the highly esteemed family estate for two decades until 2009 when Domaine Billaud-Simon was sold to Faiveley. In 2014 Samuel recovered his share of the Billaud-Simon vines, and since 2015, Domaine Samuel Billaud wines are made at his own modern winery in the centre of Chablis. Samuel is meticulous in his respect for terroir, Chablis typicity and in his commitment to sustainability. What The Critics Say "Samuel Billaud is one of those winemakers who epitomizes great, traditional Chablis …We should see him right at the top of Chablis producers alongside the likes of Raveneau and Vincent Dauvissat." "Quite simply, Samuel is one of the best producers in Chablis at the moment. If you have not…

(from both sides of the appellation). This is aromatically similar to the Preuses with perhaps even more classic Chablis elements that are picked up by the gorgeously textured middleweight flavors that are intensely mineral driven and especially so on the hugely long and impeccably well-balanced finale. In a word, terrific.

The 2021 Chablis Vaud'sir Grand Cru comes from two parcels on the east and west of the climat. Matured in three-year-old Chassin barrels, the pure bouquet has yellow plum, Granny Smiths and sea spray aromas bursting from the glass. The palate is very well-balanced with a taut opening. Fresh and vibrant with a crisp and penetrating finish, a tang of grapefruit on the aftertaste. Vrai Grand Cru!
