Marcel Lapierre, and now his children Mathieu and Camille, are central figures in the modern identity of Morgon. Working organically since the 1980s and inspired by Jules Chauvet, the domaine helped define what we now call “natural Beaujolais”: meticulous vineyard work, minimal sulphur, and a focus on purity rather than extraction. Their holdings centre on Morgon’s Côte du Py and Roche du Py—granite-rich slopes that give Gamay both perfume and structure.
