In Bond Fine Wine. 2022 Château Duhart Milon, Pauillac, Bordeaux, France. Fourth Growth • Red Bordeaux in 6x75cl. Top critic score: 97/100 (JD). Drinking window: 2025–2060. Sold in bond by Albany Vintners, independent fine wine merchants.

A Fifth Growth in the 1855 classification, Duhart Milon is part of the Lafite stable, undergoing a notable transformation in recent years under the ownership of the Rothschild family. The estate's recent shift towards a more meticulous approach has resulted in wines with balance and complexity, showcasing Pauillac signature cassis, & cedar notes. Vintages such as 2009, 2010, 2015, and 2016 have garnered widespread acclaim. Duhart-Milon offers a window into the quality of Rothschild craftsmanship, without the premium of its more famous sibling.

What the critics say

Antonio Galloni (AG) — 94/100 · Inside Bordeaux, 28/01/2025 · Drink 2028-2042

The 2022 Duhart-Milon is a big, rich wine. Ample and expansive on the palate, it has so much to offer. Cabernet Sauvignon takes center stage as dark-toned fruit, graphite and expressive savory nuances open with aeration. Huge swaths of creamy tannins wrap it all together, building to a substantial, explosive finish. The 2022 is an impressive Duhart.

Jeb Dunnuck (JD) — 97/100 · JebDunnuck.com, 27/02/2025 · Drink 2025 - 2055

The 2022 Chateau Duhart-Milon is all finesse and elegance, offering cassis, black raspberry, spring flowers, spicy wood, and graphite. Medium to full-bodied, it's incredibly pure, layered, and seamless, with utter class from start to finish. You can safely drink bottles anytime over the coming 30 years.

James Suckling (JS) — 96/100 · JamesSuckling.com, 14/01/2025

The tension here comes from chalky tannins and lovely tobacco, herbs, cedar and cigar-box character. Currants and blue fruits. It's medium-bodied with lovely fruit and light-citrus bitterness. Firm and intense with an excellent finish. One of the best Duharts I have tasted. Try after 2028.
