The 2022 Chevalier-Montrachet La Cabotte Grand Cru has a vivid nose, tensile with crushed rock and yellow fruit, perhaps a little more austere than the regular Chevalier. The palate is well-balanced and shows more concentration, but maybe at the cost of mineralit' on the sun-kissed finish. Still, this is a very fine Chevalier.

Pale primrose in colour. Noticeably more majesty here, a greater depth and also a little touch of oak. Halfway at least to Montrachet. An entirely coherent expression with a stunning density of white fruit, and a perfectly integrated acidity. This year the Cabotte is closer to the power of Montrachet, a brilliant wine. Drink from 2032-2040.
