A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2021 La Petite Eglise opens in the glass with aromas of dark berries, licorice, loamy soil and black truffle. It's medium to full-bodied, concentrated and tensile, with terrific depth at the core and a long, saline finish.

The 2021 La Petite Eglise is an intriguing wine, although it naturally lacks the dynamic energy of the best years. Succulent red cherry, blood orange, cinnamon, new leather, spice and cedar all meld together. Gracious and supple, with tons of charm, La Petite Eglise is quite seductive in 2021.

Excellent quality, with crayon, cloves, saffran and graphite notes, deliciously finessed, and another wine that has improved over ageing. The 2016 plantings by the church plot near the chateau are used for the first time in this 2021 vintage, split betwen Petite Eglise and L'Eglise Clinet (massal from 1935 vines).
