The 2020 Lanessan presents a very perfumed nose of dark cherries, cassis, cedar and background tobacco aromas, turning quite minty with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, a crisp line of acidity, plenty of tightly wound black fruit and a saline finish. This is a classy Lanessan, quite complex and intense yet refined.

The 2020 Lanessan is just as compelling from bottle as it was from barrel. Dark, virile and imposing, Lanessan offers up a mix of black cherry, plum, gravel, incense, tobacco, scorched earth and licorice. Firm tannins wrap it all together in style. This is a terrific showing.

The 2020 Lanessan has a light, reticent nose with notes of forest floor, earthenware and a bit of dustiness at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied and slightly chewy in texture with sapid red fruit and moderate depth.
