From En Orveaux, a usefully cooler site, making a pleasingly ripe wine but with good detail too. Look for aroma rather than body here, and this certainly has a floral note, while the stems infuse the finish and open this out very well.

The 2020 Ech'zeaux Grand Cru, which comes from En Orveaux, is fresh and delineated on the nose, touches of mint and dark chocolate infusing the dark berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, quite dense tannins. This is quite a "compact" Ech'zeaux, grippy and spicy, just missing a little elegance on the finish.
