Il Marroneto is among Montalcino's most sought-after producers. Founded in 1974 by Giuseppe Mori, Il Marroneto is a small, traditional estate on the cooler northern slopes of Montalcino, now run by his son Alessandro. Its vineyards sit just below the town's medieval walls, where altitude and sandy, mineral-rich soils help produce Sangiovese of remarkable perfume and finesse. Stylistically, Il Marroneto represents the elegant, traditional side of Brunello, favouring aromatic complexity, freshness and finely structured tannins over sheer power or extraction. The celebrated single-vineyard Madonna delle Grazie takes this approach further, combining extraordinary concentration with floral delicacy and impressive longevity.
